We are always pleased to help and answer your questions, whatever they may be.
However, we have tried to pre-empt a few of the frequently asked questions below:
Q) What is the approximate cost of a timber frame building?
A) Timber frame works out at approximately £6 per ft2 or £65.00 per m2 (depending on project design)
Q) Is timber frame cheaper than traditional brick and block?
A) As a direct comparison of the two timber frame is not cheaper than traditional, however other aspects need to be considered.
-
Instead of daily spiralling costs, timber frame offers a fixed pice for the supply + erection of the superstructure.
-
Complete build times are reduced which results in a speedier return on your investment.
-
Due to the higher insulation qualities heating costs are reduced.
-
Lightweight construction means less expensive foundations
Q) How long does it take to erect a typical two story 3-4 bedroom detached property?
A) Erection time aproximately 8-10 working days with a completed
structural shell left for the client to clad internally and externally.
Q) What external wall thickness do Frame Wise supply?
A)
Our standard external wall panels are 90mm or 140mm, however if
necessary we can achieve greater wall thicknesses for specific
applications.
Q) What is the difference between the 90mm and 140mm timber frame?
A)
The 90mm frame is often used where space is a premium it is
approximately 10% cheaper than the 140mm frame. However, insulation
costs are almost double for the 90mm than for the 140mm frame.
Q) How long does it take from recept of order to delivery/erection of frame?
A) Depending on current work loads and size of project. Approximately six weeks.
