We arrive on site after the foundations have been finished. The panels are delivered and then unloaded using one of our telescopic forklifts.
Soleplate
The soleplate is then laid out onto the slab over a layer of damp proofing liner. It is then fastened to the foundations to provide a solid base to the frame.
Ground Floor
Once the soleplate is finished we begin constructing the ground floor. The panels are laid out following the timber frame drawings. Care is taken to ensure the panels are lined up exactly.
First Floor
Before work can start on the first floor, struts are added to support the panels while the first floor joists are added. The joists will provide the stability required in the final house. Also bean bags are laid out over the ground floor for health and safety reasons. They would prevent injury in the case of a fall from the upper levels.
The joist are then lifted to the first floor using a telescopic fork lift and then fastened into place.
The first floor is then covered with a layer of peel clean chipboard that is glued and taped into place. Putting the floor in at this stage gives the erectors a safer working environment when working on the upper levels. It also provides protection from the weather to the lower levels. When your build is finished the plastic covering on the peel clean chipboard can be removed, leaving a clean smooth surface ready to be covered with your floor finishes.
Once the floor has been finished the first floor is built in the same way as the ground floor was constructed.
Roof
Bean bags are then laid onto the first floor and the trusses are added to the build.
Finally the gable panels are added to the ends of the roof. In this build attic trusses and peel clean chipboard were used. However this is only one of a wide range of roof types that we offer.
